Author Guidelines

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Integrated Sciences (JMRIS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original and methodologically rigorous scholarship across multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and integrated areas of research.

JMRIS welcomes manuscripts from health and medical sciences, life sciences, public health, engineering and technology, artificial intelligence and data science, environmental sciences, business and management, education, psychology, social sciences, policy studies, and other interdisciplinary fields.

Article Types

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted in clear academic English and prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Authors should use:

• A clear and concise title
• Structured or unstructured abstract according to article type
• 3–8 keywords
• Appropriate section headings
• Continuous page numbering
• Tables and figures cited in numerical order
• Standard international units where applicable
• Consistent terminology and abbreviations

Original research articles should normally include:

Title → Abstract → Keywords → Introduction → Methods → Results → Discussion → Conclusion → Declarations → References

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses should follow appropriate reporting standards such as PRISMA where applicable.

Observational research should follow STROBE where applicable, randomized trials should follow CONSORT, diagnostic studies should follow STARD, case reports should follow CARE, and qualitative studies should follow an appropriate recognized reporting framework.

Abstract

The abstract should accurately summarize the purpose, methods, principal findings, and conclusion of the manuscript.

For original research, a structured abstract containing Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion is recommended.

Unless otherwise specified for a journal section, abstracts should normally not exceed 300 words.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–8 specific keywords that accurately represent the manuscript. Where appropriate, recognized subject headings or standardized terminology should be used.

References

Use Vancouver style consistently. Number references in order of first citation, use bracketed Arabic numerals in the text, and reuse the same number when citing a source again. Arrange the reference list numerically. Verify each source and include a resolving DOI when available; do not use placeholder identifiers.

Journal article format: Author surname Initials. Article title. Abbreviated journal title. Year;volume(issue):pages or article number. DOI.

Book format: Author surname Initials. Book title. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher; year.

Reference selection must follow scholarly relevance. Purchased citations, citation exchanges, fabricated references, and coercive or irrelevant citation requests are prohibited.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should:

• Be numbered consecutively
• Have clear descriptive titles or legends
• Be referred to in the manuscript text
• Contain sufficient information to be understood independently
• Be original or reproduced with appropriate permission

Figures should be of publication-quality resolution.

Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted material reproduced from other sources.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must have received approval or exemption from an appropriate institutional ethics committee or review board where required.

The manuscript should provide:

• Name of the approving ethics committee or institution
• Approval/reference number where available
• Confirmation of informed consent where applicable

Research involving animals must comply with applicable institutional and national ethical requirements.

Clinical Trial Registration

Prospective clinical trials should be registered in an appropriate publicly accessible clinical trial registry. The registration number should be provided in the manuscript.

Authorship

All listed authors must have made meaningful scholarly contributions to the work and should accept responsibility for the published content.

JMRIS supports transparent contributor reporting, including the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy where appropriate.

Guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are not permitted.

Changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all affected authors and the editorial office.

Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Tools

Artificial intelligence tools must not be listed as authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, references, and content of their manuscript.

Material use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools in manuscript preparation, analysis, image generation, coding, or other substantive research activities should be transparently disclosed where relevant.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, references, images, results, or scholarly sources.

Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work and must not contain plagiarism, fabricated material, manipulated data, or inappropriate duplication.

Authors must appropriately cite and acknowledge previously published material.

Submissions may be screened using plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software.

Duplicate and Simultaneous Submission

A manuscript submitted to JMRIS must not simultaneously be under consideration by another journal.

Material that has previously been published in substantially the same form should not be submitted unless the circumstances are transparently disclosed and permitted by the journal.

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research.

If no conflict exists, authors should state:

Funding

All financial or material support related to the study should be disclosed.

If no external funding was received, authors may state:

Funding: This research received no external funding.

Data Availability

Authors should provide a data availability statement where applicable, explaining whether and how supporting data may be accessed.

Restrictions relating to confidentiality, privacy, ethical approval, contractual obligations, or legal requirements should be stated clearly.

Corrections, Retractions and Research Integrity

JMRIS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

Where substantial errors, ethical concerns, research misconduct, or unreliable findings are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other appropriate notices.

Files for Double-Anonymised Review

Upload a separate title page and an anonymised manuscript. Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and identifying document properties from the review file. Place identifying declarations in the title page or a separate document. Enter every author's accurate name, institutional affiliation, country, and email in OJS; include verified ORCID identifiers where available.

Reproducibility and Evidence Synthesis

Systematic reviews must report complete search strategies, search dates, eligibility criteria, screening counts, included-study details, and an appropriate quality or risk-of-bias assessment. Provide the protocol or explain its absence. Label narrative and structured evidence syntheses accurately. Computational studies must report data provenance, software versions, validation design, leakage controls, relevant baselines, and uncertainty where applicable. Label simulations and synthetic data explicitly; do not describe them as observed participant data.

Publication Charges and Policies

The publication charge is USD 100 per accepted article. No fee is required to submit a manuscript. Payment does not influence editorial screening, peer review, or acceptance. Consult the journal's Editorial Policies directory for peer review, waivers, copyright, preservation, complaints, and correction procedures.
